Day 1

Vision & Vehicle

  • Why you give, and what you hope your giving will do
  • Writing your giving vision and mission
  • How a donor-advised fund works, and when a private foundation fits instead
  • Comparing sponsors and choosing the one that fits your family
Day 2

Money Flow & Structure

  • Mapping how money moves from your business to your fund to the causes you love
  • Cash, stock, or long-held assets: what to give and why it matters
  • Timing your gifts around a strong business year
  • Naming your fund, donor-advisors, and successors
  • Building your question list for your CPA
Day 3

Giving in Motion

  • How to vet a charity before you give
  • Building your charity shortlist
  • Setting a giving calendar your family can keep
  • Planning your first grant

A note on business gifts: gifts made by the business entity itself follow different rules than gifts you make personally. C-corporations are generally limited to 10% of taxable income, with a 1% floor starting in 2026. Pass-through businesses generally pass gifts through to their owners. Confirm with your CPA who the donor should be.

You leave with

A Plan, Not Just Notes

  • Your giving vision and mission
  • Your sponsor choice
  • A money-flow map
  • A giving calendar
  • A charity shortlist
  • A first-grant plan
  • Your CPA question list

Plus a 30-day follow-up call to answer the questions that come up once you start: from your CPA, your sponsor, or your family.
